Fargo, ND – 908 students from 38 North Dakota high school teams are participating in the North Dakota State High School Clay Target League (NDSHSCTL) 2017 spring trap shooting season, which began April 2nd.  Last year there were 565 students on 23 teams.

“We are very pleased with the growth of clay target shooting as an activity for North Dakota high school athletes” said Jim Sable, Executive Director of the NDSHSCTL, “such high participation shows the continued demand for alternative high school activities related to North Dakota’s longstanding outdoor traditions.”

Upon completion of the Spring League, all student athletes are invited to participate in individual and team competitions at the 2017 State Tournament. The event is scheduled for June 17th at The Shooting Park in Horace, ND.

Conferences are determined by team size.  This year, the 38 competing teams have been divided into 7 conferences.
